About Apex Arc Flash Engineering

Apex Arc Flash Engineering is a niche electrical engineering practice that specializes in power system studies and electrical safety for facilities across California.

We focus on arc flash analysis, short circuit analysis, coordination studies, and single line diagram development, working with owners, facility managers, and design teams who need clear, reliable studies they can trust in the field.

Based in the San Francisco Bay Area and serving sites across California.

Who We Are

Apex Arc Flash Engineering is a team of electrical engineers dedicated to one focused area of practice: arc flash analysis, short circuit analysis, coordination studies, and single line diagram development.

We combine design office experience, field investigation work, and knowledge of current standards to help clients understand how their electrical systems behave during fault conditions and what can be done to reduce risk to people and equipment.

What We Do

Arc Flash
Analysis

We perform complete arc flash studies in line with NFPA 70E and IEEE 1584, including system modeling, incident energy and boundary calculations, and preparation of labels and reports that support your safety program.

Short Circuit
Analysis

We calculate short circuit duties, check equipment ratings, and prepare coordination-ready studies so breakers and relays are sized and applied correctly. The goal is to clear faults quickly and avoid unnecessary loss of service.

Single Line Diagram Development

We create or clean up single line diagrams so they match actual field conditions. Accurate diagrams become the key for any meaningful study and are treated as a deliverable on every project.

Lifecycle
Support

We help update existing studies when systems change, review contractor work, and support ongoing safety programs so maintenance and safety staff still know how to use the results.

How We Work

Step 1

Listen And Define The Scope

We start by reviewing your goals, existing drawings, and any prior studies. Together we define which buildings, electrical rooms, and systems will be included so the scope is clear.

Step 2

Collect Data And Build The Model

We gather equipment information from drawings and field visits and build or update a detailed power system model. During this stage we verify ratings and identify obvious gaps or inconsistencies.

Step 3

Analyze, Document, And Review

We run short circuit, coordination, and arc flash calculations, prepare diagrams, settings, and labels, and then review the results with your team before finalizing.

Where We Serve

We focus on facilities where electrical reliability and safety are central to operations, including

Our Approach and Values

Safety and Reliability

Studies are developed with worker safety and system reliability as primary goals.

Technical Clarity

Assumptions, data sources, and limitations are documented so it is clear what the model represents.

Practical Recommendations

Where issues are found, we provide options that can be implemented through maintenance work, capital projects, or phased upgrades.

Long Term View

Models and drawings are structured so they can be updated as the system changes, reducing the need to restart from zero.
