Apex Arc Flash Engineering (“Apex,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides arc flash, short circuit, protective device coordination, single line diagram, and related power system engineering services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information through apexarcflash.com (the “Website”) and when you contact us.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide. When you request a proposal, send an inquiry, or otherwise contact us, we may collect:
- Your name, organization, email address, and phone number
- Facility location and type
- The services you are interested in and whether an existing study is available
- Details about your electrical system, project, or goals
- Any other information you choose to include
Please do not send highly sensitive information through the Website, such as Social Security numbers, passwords, financial account numbers, or patient health information.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting, security, and website systems automatically process technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages requested, referring URL, and the date and time of your visit. We use this information to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Website, not to identify individual visitors.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Respond to inquiries and evaluate proposal or consultation requests
- Understand project scope and prepare proposals and fee estimates
- Communicate about prospective and current projects, including site visits and document requests
- Provide engineering services when we are retained
- Maintain business and project records
- Operate, maintain, and secure the Website, and prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal, regulatory, professional, insurance, and contractual obligations, and establish or defend legal claims
We do not use contact form submissions to send unsolicited marketing emails.
Submitting an inquiry does not create an engineer-client relationship. Engineering services are provided only under a written agreement, and information you provide during an engagement is also handled according to that agreement.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
We share information only as reasonably necessary with:
- Service providers that support our Website and communications, such as hosting, website software, email, and security and spam-prevention providers
- Professional and project partners, such as consultants, subcontractors, and professional advisers, when needed for a project or business matter and subject to confidentiality or legal obligations
- Legal and safety recipients, when we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with law or legal process, respond to lawful government requests, protect the rights, property, or safety of Apex, our clients, or others, or investigate fraud, security incidents, or misuse
- A successor organization, if Apex is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets
4. Cookies and Third-Party Resources
The Website uses cookies and similar technologies only as needed for it to function, stay secure, and perform well, such as cookies set by WordPress and our caching and security tools. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
Some parts of the Website load resources from third parties, such as web fonts (for example, Google Fonts) and hosting or security services. When your browser connects to these services, they may receive technical information such as your IP address and the page you are viewing. Their use of that information is governed by their own privacy policies. The Website may also link to other websites, whose privacy practices we do not control.
5. Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no common industry standard for responding to these signals, the Website does not currently respond to them.
We do not collect information about your online activities over time and across other websites, and we do not knowingly allow other parties to do so through our Website, apart from the limited technical information described in Section 4.
6. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including professional recordkeeping, contractual, legal, tax, insurance, and security needs. How long we keep information depends on its type; for example, records of an engineering engagement may be kept longer than an inquiry that did not lead to a project.
7. Your Choices and Requests
You may ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we have about you
- Correct or update your information
- Delete information we no longer need
Email your request to info@apexarcflash.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we may keep certain information when needed for legal, contractual, professional, or security reasons.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Website is intended for business and professional users. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If we learn that we have, we will take steps to delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information, and the Website uses encrypted HTTPS connections. No website or electronic transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our Website, services, or legal requirements change. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
